I have a strange question. I just switched to using wick pins for votives. I love how easy they make the process except for two things.

1. They leave a rim on the bottom of the candle (not that big of a deal).
2. There is a noticeable gap around the wick. The diameter of the wick pin is bigger than the diameter of the wick.

Am I a:) being overly concerned, b:) using two big a wick pin, or c:) using too small a wick? I appreciate the feedback.

Thanks in advance.

Are you using votive wick pins?  I use votive wick pins for votives all the time and have never had a problem with the small gap around the wick.  When you light the candle it will burn fine.  I use cd-5 wicks for my votives.
I'm not sure what you mean about a rim on the bottom of the candle.
Have you test burned them to see if they burn ok?
